| It’s June – which means my first book convention in two years is nearly upon us all! I cannot wait to go – and on that note?
I have been thinking about travel… and how I incorporate it in my books. That is one thing about writing/reading – I can be anywhere in the world whenever I want to be. In Forever Faithful, I had Jackson sweep Harley away to New Orleans for a romantic rendezvous of chicory coffee and beignets. If you’ve never been to New Orleans – it’s an experience. You can smell the ocean, feel the humidity (omigosh my hair was a mess), and breathe the scents of the Quarter. The coffee, the shops, the pralines… it’s alive with wonder and an experience I will never forget. We rode segways through the streets, seeing all the sights… well, I could go on for hours – but you get the drift. It’s lovely in an Old World fashion. Chicory coffee has an original taste of it’s own – and writing that scene let me experience that moment again with my husband, sitting at the picnic tables along the river, breathing the powdered sugar, and smiling at the one you adore… *sigh* So – Imagine my surprise when he bought me chicory coffee K Cups for my Keurig. The photo below is what the box looked like, me minus the coffee (it was brewing) and a link to the book where you can read about their first date at the famous Cafe Du Monde. (Yes, it’s an affiliate link – full disclosure) Also – I included a link to the books you’ll see at Space Coast Book Lovers Convention. This will be my first time there and I cannot wait to get to Florida! Are there book conventions near you? Where would you like to meet at? I’m always looking and reached out to a few places in 2023… Coming in June: The Accidental Girlfriend Rescue is coming out this Friday and I have one question for you: how long could you tread water?
This was a tense book with a lot of twists, turns, and unexpected realities – and thoughtfulness. It made me seriously think – hard. How would I handle being cornered by the mob? What would I do differently? Next, we get Armadillo’s story on June 24th in Forever Famous... grab your hats, hang on to your seats, because this guy will melt hearts, ladies! My editor has messaged me over and over again how Armadillo is ‘her guy’ and how she ‘loves a man like that’ – I have to admit that I tend to agree. He’s unassuming, yet strong… sweet, yet giving… He is just W.O.W.
