Y’all – when I started this story, I had a vague idea.
A Ben Solo redemption arc – because I sooo love a redemption story and Star Wars, so what could be better? I wanted all of the anger, frustration, angst thrown in and mixed with all of the innocent sweetness that his perfect match would have as an opposing force… then the story grew. The charcters started to develop in my mind and I could ‘feel’ them in my heart. I felt Nettie’s frustration at work, with Tate, with everything – and her devastating hopelessness at some of the things Tate did, because she was scared.
I mean, when you fall for a girl – you go big or go home, right?
Spoilers: Tate did it.
Moody. Protective. He keeps his secrets… but as Donkey from Shrek says (I love Donkey, y’all so bear with me) – ‘Ogre’s have layers just like an onion‘. Maybe that’s not the exact quote, but it’s pretty close and Tate’s character has all sorts of layers that unfurl in the most beautiful manner. Is he frustrating – sure – because he’s his own worst enemy and doesn’t know how to change any of that until a few things change in his life.
Big Stick Energy has it all – in the most wonderful ways…
